Possibly the prime time to see the band.

I was at this show. I was 14 years-old. My Dad took me and five of my friends. He also took us to see them the year before on the Rock'n'Roll Over Tour. This was my second concert ever. AC/DC was the opening band, touring for their second album, Let There Be Rock, and I remember nobody knew who they were…only that they were from Australia. It was great to see AC/DC when they were so young…I later became a bigger fan of them, and dropped Kiss like a hot potato when they released "I Was Made For Loving You"….hated that song (Kiss doing disco, yuck!). To me Kiss had sold out and they became a huge bubble gum act after the Love Gun album. I threw all my Kiss records into the backyard (like Frisbees), LOL. I did keep the Alive album and Destroyer as I think these two albums epitomized Kiss for me and they were great albums. Kiss put on a great show back in the day…it was like going to see the circus back then.

i was at this exact concert ...my father took me to see it at the capital centre...which is now long gone........ac/dc opened then kiss i had just turned 11yo and it was a present from my father i even got ace's towel he used to wipe his face with.....we were allowed to an area off limits because my fathers friend was a d.c. cop and did the security for it....thanks dad for memories
Jack C. Lamb
Probably at their peak right here...
MetalSalvation
As great as the reunion tour was to experience, there is a part of me that will always feel disappointed that they didn't bring back this stage from the Alive II tour...without that stage design my dream of seeing them as they were back then still remains somewhat unfulfilled.
Randy Dufour
I was at this concert in 1977!! I was 11 years old & couldn't believe my parents let me go. Remains to this day as the loudest concert I ever went to! Best stage show ever !!! I have very fond memories of the Cap Center. Damn shame they demolished it !!
Daniel Parra
Look at the sweat on peter & the wind blowing on his hair... he really worked hard on his Solo... just tremendous. You Go CRISS!!!
Max Bäck
This was at their peak of their career! They played and sang ther songs so great!!!!
Vinylman65
I'll never forget my older brother got Kiss Alive II for Christmas that year. I took one look at the album and i about pissed all over myself. I was instantly star struck!!!! I loved cranking it up on my mom's stereo system and pretending i was Ace! Til this day Shock Me on Kiss Alive II just rock's my soul! First there was Shock Me then Rocket Ride and oh my GOD Ace Frehley's 1978 Solo Album! As soon as i heard Fractured Mirror i was changed for life!!!! I wanted to play guitar like Ace Frehley! I had the worst childhood a kid could have thanks to a mexican step dad from HELL!!!! Thanks to KISS during this time for getting me through the worst days of my life and at the same time giving me the best days of my life! You guys have no idea how important you were to me. There will never be another experience like KISS in the 1970'S!!!!
Virginia Camper
ACE is a great player

ACE IS THE ONE REALLY KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE INSTRUMENT.
robonez
Man, Ace was great back then! \m/ Sure, he was never a "shredder" or too progressive, but his solos were always great, and always a high point of the song. He pulled if of great live too. \m/
Steve Holstein
when I was in high school in 1976, a lot of the kids said kiss sucks, but they were all at the concert when they came through town.
Daniel Parra

I love seeing the Kiss shows from 77, especially post Love Gun. I saw them on the Love Gun tour a few months earlier than this show (July 9, 1977, Moncton Coliseum, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada). It was my first big rock concert, and my parents took about 6 of my friends and I to go, as we were all 10-11 and all big fans of the band at the time. Cheap Trick were the opening act, and were unknown to us, but we were all blown away at how good they were. An excellent show to start my "going to rock shows" years off with. I'll never forget it.
James Boyles
this is the love gun tour, not alive II.
Mark C.
peter sounds like he can barely play drums...which he couldn't.
TommyGunn60

What's so funny is they sang off key the whole night yet still got laid like villains. Much respect.
Johnny Rotten
WOW..........that SOLO from 2:30 onwards was magical........especially when Ace finished it off........it was exhausting to watch !!
Steambull1
These four guys here in the year 1977, according to their autobiographies, are not very level-headed people, but they sure work together perfectly anyway... You can't make every member of a band important by giving them make-up and show personas - they all have to have a unique effect to the overall sound and image, and that's a big part of what makes Kiss special to me. Nobody played like Peter in hard rock, Ace's unique sound was influencing hundreds of wanna-be musicians, Paul was the most over-the-top frontman ever and Gene worked his ass off staying in his demon character while playing great basslines without ever looking at the frets!
Jeff Cornelius
Seen this show in Louisville (Freedom Hall) a few days earlier! AC/DC was the opener.
Anders Lindberg
They played the wrong chord at the end of King of the night time world. You hear it clearly.
Tyreek Murillo
can't tell if i watched ace solo or an episode of doctor who
Eric
Saw this tour in '77 with my older brother in Abilene, Texas. Ace is why I picked up the guitar forty years ago.
MrKT1967
Pretty dammn good rock show!
GlobalTubeTruth
It's great rock music, and an amazing stage show, but though it might be difficult to believe for some people, there's actually something far more evil and sinister going on within this band than most people would ever imagine, or care to admit.
Daniel Parra
I wished they would've perform Flaming Youth & Strange Ways.....
Donnie Downer
Thanks!
MARCELO LIZARRAGA
FELIZ DIA A TODOS LOS KISSEROS, UN ABRAZO VIRTUAL PARA TODOS NOSOTROS, A LA KISS ARMY DE ARGENTINA Y DEL MUNDO ENTERO, R&R ALL NITE....
Steve Holstein
I saw them in 1974, in Houston Texas. They were opening up for another act but I can't remember who it was. They weren't rich or famous yet, and they played their asses off!! I'll never forget it

Thanks for he upload!!! I became a fan in 1979 & the Alive 2 album had a lot to do with it. My favorite 3 classic KISS albums. Love Gun, Destroyer, Alive 2. Post classic era Creatures of the Night, Lick it Up Not that anyone asked my opinion. :D

The first time I saw KISS was at Radio City Music Hall without their makeup on for the Lick It Up tour. Nothing comes close to the original, but it was a great show. Vinny Vincent kicked ass and Accept opened up.

Can anyone tell me how old they were at this time? 1977, would put me in grade school and "tenderoni" as we used to say. goodness the old days... At least we loved our country. Loud, and obnoxious but respectful. Where did it all go?

Paul used to be great. His vocals were at a peak in the 80`s. Actually sad that he is still on stage. He sucks now, but he used to be truly great.
