Tartini Violin Sonata in G minor ''Devil's Trill Sonata''

Violin Sonata in G minor: 1. Larghetto affettuoso 2. Allegro moderato 3. Andante 3. Allegro assai-Andante-Allegro assai

Classic Chillout
“One night I dreamed I had made a pact with the devil for my soul. Everything went as I desired: my new servant anticipated my every wish. I had the idea of giving him my violin to see if he might play me some pretty tunes, but imagine my astonishment when I heard a sonata so unusual and so beautiful, performed with such mastery and intelligence, on a level I had never before conceived was possible. I was so overcome that I stopped breathing and woke up gasping. Immediately I seized my violin, hoping to recall some shred of what I had just heard; but in vain. The piece I then composed is without a doubt my best, and I still call it “The Devil’s Sonata,” but it falls so far short of the one that stunned me that I would have smashed my violin and given up music forever if I could but have possessed it.”

It's just me or the Devil's Trill sounds like the devil's story? Starts when he was an angel (00:00-08:36) and finish when God exiled him from the paradise and creates hell. In this part, also we can feel his envy, or maybe others feels, but not love anymore. (08:37- 12:48). The final part, is so intense... (12:47-16:30) could represent his pain and hate. (Sorry for the possibles errors in my writing , I'm Chilean and I speak spanish).

If you think about it. It makes sense why Lucifer knows how to play the violin. He was after all an angel. Beautiful peice Lucifer, props
The funny thing is that he wasn't hearing the devil playing the violin, it was his own brain composing it. It's likely what he heard in his dream was far worse than this version, or maybe he hadn't heard anything at all, and simply dreamt he heard the most magnificent piece of music, and his brain was convinced of this. This is a common phenomenon where people gain false memories from dreams and describe things liks revelations from god recited perfectly in their dreams, yet are never able to repeat them but insist on the fact that they were recited perfectly. This actually happened to my father who says a bird with the face of christ recited all the revelations to him, but i'm sure it's just his brain telling him he heard them perfectly because how would he even be able to remember them accurately enough to determine their perfection if he can't recite them himself. Still very interesting though. I've had dreams where i've lived entirely different lives from birth to death, and yet when i think about these dreams i can't recall any details even though i believed i could recall every detail, so my brain simply came up with the concept of me living these seperate lives, but didnt actually create any experiences for them. It's essentially a feeling, not an experience. The brain is very fascinating.
My girlfriend asked where she could get more music like this; I told her to go to Hell.

I feel like not enough people know the devils origins. He (known as Lucifer then) was God's right-hand angel, in charge of praise and worship. He was pretty much like the choir leader, the maestro, the conductor and would write the most amazing songs praising the Lord. But pride soon began to take over and ya'll know how he was cast from Heaven, took a third of the Angels in Heaven (equal to a third of the stars in the night sky) etc. Music is all about emotion, it can be the most beautiful thing in the world, can be used to convey things normal words, ideas, texts can't etc. It's a powerful tool and the Devil is an expert at wielding it.

Anyone from 1700s who still listen this jam?
There are parts where ir makes question surely the devil must have a soul... Its evident in the aching tunes of how mich he would like to return to Gods grace but his pride wont allow it. Each note repents to God unintentionally, the emptiness is felt with each stroke to be near the light once more. The devil played his lonliness to a mere man, in twisted hope that God may like. Ohh how far you have falleng morning star.

Penguins are my favorite animal
a few months bak, I dreamed it was the same year this man was greeted by the devil (as in the picture) 1775 or something like that, and i was slowly falling and i fell at the last supper dinner table. god not jesus were there. it was satan himself. and he was indeed playing this song and it was so beautiful. it was the time i didnt even know wht this song was... after Satan played the magnificent music on his biolin, i fell off my chair. and the scenery was like in a play. it had like puppet clouds or something. and it had a fake sky and i kept falling as the music intensified and then i fell into a swimming pool, and at the bottom was Satan's violin. wen i went to pick it up, the music stopped. as if on cue. i was shocked by this, and the fact that wen i tried to swim to the serface w it, i couldent move. and once i tried to move, the music started up again by ear screeching. my ears started to bleed and i blink and the water is all bloody but this time...im in the sea and it's bloody. i contnue to fall to the bottom of the ocean. soon i start to drown. wen i start drowning i hit my head on a stone at the bottom of some place. I continue to free fall for a few minutes and then i become weak, as if im starving. and i feel so weak i get knocked out. and after im knocked out. i wake up in tears trying to catch my breath. i climb out of bed and i start to fall into my floor...IM STILL DREAMING. i fall and i fall as the music keeps playing. i fall for a while more and im back at the last supper. although, jesus is on the cross ans Satan is throwing stones at him... i dash over trying to stop Satan from injuring our lord and savor. but it was useless. my hands went straight through him. he said nothing and stared at me. stared at me long enough i startedto feel an instant pain as i jurk below the surface of the pool i once was again. i see Satan's violin again. this time i dont try to pick it up. i just try my hardest to swim the the surface. i blink again and im SEAKED in sweat...tears...bloody...everything u can imagine. at this point i wasent sure if i were awake or not. i just start praying... and praying...and praying and....praying....until the now dreadful music Satan was playing...fades out...it feels like i prayed for hours on end after it end. then it imediately cutes back to jesus on the cross...burning now...i dash into the village he was beyond and i grab pauls of water from a well and toss them on jesus to try and put the fire out. i prayed in my head to make jesus stop burning. then i hear him whisper and look straight at me from being dead and say, "i died for u all. i will rise once more." i cried as i blinked and everythingr and everyone was gone. i blink again and the music stops, this time i know i was awake. i run upstairs and tell my family about the dream. they said it was just a dream and to pray every night before bed. i said i probably should drink holy water before bed, too. i giggled. i loved the day just like any other and only last night wen i heard this song, months later, the dream happened again. but this time i prayed at jesus' cross. and i woke up the next day bever having that dream again....at least i hope not... *_THT DREAM WAS LEGIT REAL THO!! NO F*ING JOKE!!_*

The story behind “Devil’s Trill” starts with a dream. Tartini allegedly told the French astronomer Jérôme Lalande that he dreamed that The Devil appeared to him and asked to be his servant. At the end of their lessons Tartini handed the devil his violin to test his skill—the devil immediately began to play with such virtuosity that Tartini felt his breath taken away. When the composer awoke he immediately jotted down the sonata, desperately trying to recapture what he had heard in the dream. Despite the sonata being successful with his audiences, Tartini lamented that the piece was still far from what he had heard in his dream. What he had written was, in his own words: “so inferior to what I had heard, that if I could have subsisted on other means, I would have broken my violin and abandoned music forever.”

Me, dying: "Finally! Time to leave." The devil, sitting on the end of my bed playing a violin: "Not yet you gotta hear this sick riff I've been working on."
this has solitude in a cold place! all over it sad and loneliness as well! this actually feels like it reaps or cries for the soul! very alluring i must say! if it sounds this perfect here! then I can only imagine hearing it live! the feeling you get afterwards is the devils crying soul! cause deep down he knows his own truth! that he is really all alone! he knows he is his own greatest fool! as he once had it all! as he cries for god mercy! he will one day be forgotten! even hell must come to an end!

This is beautiful despite it's title. One thing that happened to most classical composers is that they died after their 9th symphony which is known as the curse of the 9th. In away I feel like this kind of foreshadows that curse. Also from other comments I've seen it seems as if the devil temps musicians (like myself) and composers with our weakness the sound of perfect music.

Tartini did well to remember 16 minutes of violin when he woke up in the morning , i usually can't remember shit.
When I think of how tartini tried to recreate the devil’s music in his dream I can only think of one song “And the peculiar thing is this my friends: The song we sang on that fateful night it didn't actually sound Anything like this song. This is just a tribute! You gotta believe it! And I wish you were there! Just a matter of opinion.”
