People in Japan consume a lot of these type of food, Probably why they look so young  and wrinkle free even at old age.

I will definitely stop stepping on seaweed when I walk the beach! I knew they had some health benefits and are widely used in many Asian cuisines. However, I had never bothered reading up on the different types or their specific nutritional values. Irish moss has been widely used in my family for many years without knowing it`s benefits. Most times I just consider seaweed as annoying when I'm looking for a clean spot on the beach. Now I'll be the crazy one trying to identify them when they get washed up ashore. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing, I usually mixed Irish moss to my delicious fish soup too. Agar agar is very common in our country The philippines, we usually serve as salad to prevent goiter.

Is it safe to eat them? I bought seaweed at the Chinese Supermarket yesterday. I've heard that there's a lot of radiation going on, specially at the pacific ocean. Is it true that seaweed can be contaminated because of this? I tested the PH on my seaweed yesterday and it came out very alkaline. I add them to my green juice last night and my urine PH this morning was around 7.5, which is good.

Thank you so much for this. Seaweed has helped me heal after 6 months of illness. I had no idea what sea veggies were or how to consume them. Thank you also for including warnings!

This is a largely factual run through many of the properties of seaweeds. The nutritional information is helpful but from a scientific view the term 'superfood' is one to avoid. All the substantive evidence is that a broad and varied diet, mainly (if not entirely) of plants and algae with a bias towards fresh, is what will best suit most of us. That said - Food is Fun and for sharing. Gathering your own seaweed where possible and using creativity and experience in the kitchen will definitely contribute to a good style of life. Thank you for this.

There are no results of radioactive isotopes because nuclear war and radioactivity isn’t real. Never be scared of nuclear. Be scared of regular war. it’s bullshit, but very real. Nuclear war is bullshit, and not real.
